  • Age: 21 years
    Three #hashtags that describe you: #adventure #skiing #mountains
  • Where can we find you:
Summer: It’s different every year, but I try to stay in the mountains as much as possible
    Winter: Nauders

1. Where does your passion for skiing come from?

I have always been in the mountains since childhood. This really feels like coming home. When I started working in the snow on my 16th and doing training in the snow, that passion grew even more and I became more fanatical. From tightly prepared pistes to new tracks in the powder snow. It is what I prefer to do!

2. How is your summer vs. Winter?

In winter time, I try to be in the snow as much as possible for skiing. I like to teach and of course to ski for myself. I always combined it with my study. This year it’ s different. Besides my work in the Netherlands I try to be in the snow as much as possible. In the summer I prefer to go to the mountains in Europe, here you can go hiking, climbing and rafting!

3. What should not be missing in your backpack when you go skiing for a day?

I find it important that I have my avalanche material with me. Besides that, I always have a first aid kit, a energy bar, my camera and my phone in my bag!

4. How do you ensure that you are fit in the winter?

Besides working in te snow during winter I teach at a indoor ski place in the Netherlands. By teaching here and skiing for myself I’m prepared for winter season.

5. What are your dreams for the next three years?

I want to ski as much as possible in the coming years. Certainly because next season it will be less, so hopefully the next seasons I can be more in the snow.
One of my dreams is to go skiing in Canada and Japan, and then of course I’m talking about powdering! I want to develop myself more in the coming seasons in different disciplines such as freeriding!

6. What do you want to say to someone who starts skiing this year for te first time?

Don’t try skiing by yourself but book some lessons at a skischool. Nothing is more important than a goog base ans with first ski lessons the instructor will teach you this. It is also important to be fit before you start your skiing holiday! This way you avoid injuries and you can get more out of your skiing holiday!
